Welcome, distance runners! Whether you’re a seasoned marathon veteran or just starting out on your running journey, this blog post is for you. Join Team Chodat’s Coach Sophie Iacovelli for our NEW Distance Running class ‘RUN READY’, we’ll explore key strategies for improving your performance, preventing injuries, and reaching your goals.

A strong foundation is essential for successful distance running. Start by building your weekly mileage gradually, allowing your body to adapt to the demands of running long. Aim to increase your weekly distance.

Good running form can help you run more efficiently and reduce your risk of injury. Pay attention to your posture, footstrike, and breathing. Working with Sophie and our experienced coaches can help you improve your form.

Distance running is a journey, not a destination. By building a strong base, incorporating interval training, focusing on form, fueling your body, and listening to your body, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your distance running goals.

Did you know the run season begins in March 2025 however, if you want to be ready to compete you need to start training soon. We already have our eye on competing in some of these local races, so this is your chance to get a head start on your training and come together with likeminded people to smash out your distance running goals!

  • Run Wollongong- June 2025, 5km/10km/half marathon/marathon/kids 2km fun run
  • Sutherland to Surf- July 2025, 11km

  • Sydney Marathon- September 2025, 10km/marathon

Join Our New Distance Running Class Now! RUN READY…

We are excited to announce we are now offering a new class and package for clients that want to become RUN READY for middle- and long-distance races. (The 5:30pm class is in addition to our universal Timetable. Distance Running Class is a new service and is separate to our Group Fitness Classes and Sprint Training Classes.)

Starting:

RUN READY – Thursday 5.30pm October 3rd, 2024. Meet at South beach Wollongong, near ANZAC memorial. TIMETABLE HERE

What You Get:

  • Pay casually to come to one class per week – $22.00 per class BUY HERE
  • Pay for an Unlimited Class Pass which gives you access to this Run Ready class on a Thursday 5.30pm and two of our run classes in our Group Out Door Timetable schedule, Monday 6pm and Wednesday 6am – $34.00 per week direct debited BUY HERE or $379 up front payment BUY HERE
  • For already existing Group Fitness members that would like to join this class, $14 extra to your current membership can be added to your direct debit. Please reach out to accounts@chodatfitness.com.au to action this.

Personalised Coaching & Programs:

We are offering to support you to boost your distance running to the next level with one on one programs and coaching with our experienced coaches. CONTACT US and detail your goals and we can help you achieve your distance running goals.

Our personalised program and coaching package is for a minimum of 12 weeks, one program per month (total of three programs) and access to regular communication with your coach via WhatsApp – $150 per month direct debited.
