Whether it’s a double espresso, flat white, long black, skim latte or Red Bull, caffeine affects your body, and it’s probably the most widely used performance enhancing drug in the world.
Caffeine is an endurance performance booster, it helps the body use fat as fuel, so you don’t burn through your carbohydrate stores quickly. It also enhances the strength of your muscle contraction too, which can essentially increase muscle speed.
This essentially helps sport such as:
Cycling
Marathon running
Triathlon
But it can also help sports in the power and speed realm such as:
Weighlifting
Powerlifting
Track and Field throw events
Just ensure you are consuming more water than you normally do once you consume the caffeine.
